I’d pick the Emperor of Paris–a French bakery, a painter, a bookseller, and a reader who meets someone who wants to learn to read sound amazing.

Summer of Reckoning seems like an interesting story to tell from the perspectives of people from a little town in France. Learning about the good and the bad that happens in everyone’s life no matter where you live is interesting to me. I would enjoy the chance at learning about this little French town!

it’s definitely a fantastic portrait of a typical small town these days

Two of the books look very enticing: The Emperor of Paris, Paris Was Ours. I like the idea of reading several stories about Paris, this is what draws me to Paris Was Ours. The Emperor of Paris has a female character that is not the norm-I love it that she is imperfect, and I wonder how this will effect her life and transformation in the story. Thank you!

The Emperor of Paris sounds captivating, beautiful, memorable and emotional. An unforgettable story which tugs at the heartstrings and interests me greatly. Two lost souls who can life a life. The cover is lovely and evocative of the story. Thanks.

Any of the three books would be wonderful but Emperor or Paris was Ours would be my choice. They both use participatory observation as the premise and sound really good

Yes, participatory observation is definitely a plus!
