How do you get to know a city?
Friends, guidebooks and influencers can point you to the agreed list of must-sees, but a city is so much more than its tourist landmarks.
In 2010, Jon Davey spent fifteen days in Paris as a student photographer.
He’d gone there without a plan so each day began with a clean slate, stepping out onto the streets of the Marais and then just wandering around, taking in whatever came his way.
A flâneur long before he even knew the word.

When memory becomes a war, only love can awaken the human.
In a post-apocalyptic frozen future, governed by artificial intelligences, a hybrid being emerges from a forbidden book. He is called Version 49.3. He has only one certainty: to find Lucifer, the lost memory of a love from before the fall.
In Lucifer’s Shadow, the second volume of the Shards of Eternity saga, is a lyrical, cyber-mystical and deeply human thriller, written by Franck Denizot, a self-published author from the Landes region with a visceral and poetic pen.
Between dominating AIs, genetic manipulations and spiritual resistances, this novel questions the boundary between soul and data, memory and rewriting, love and forgetting.

In a grand Paris apartment, a young girl attends gatherings regularly organized by her mother. The women talk about beauty secrets and gossip, but the mood grows dark when the past, notably World War II, comes under coded discussion in hushed tones.
Years later, the silent witness to these sessions has become a prominent historian, and with this chilling autobiographical novel she sets out to unmask enigmatic figures in and around her family.
Why, she seeks to understand, did the narrator’s relatives zealously collaborate with the Nazi occupiers of France, even remaining for decades afterward obsessive devotees of that evil lost cause?
