This sounds like it has the makings of a good story, but I’m wondering if the book has been edited. As a writer, I’ve been taught to avoid excessive use of passive verbs (was, were, is). There’s also a lot of “tell” instead of “show” in the opening. This bothers the editing side of my brain!
My Tuesday post features MIAMI MORNING.

Interesting point. As you see though, this is not a self-published book, this is published by Waldorf Publishing, I would hope they have good editors

I had a hard time identifying with the narrator. I don’t think I could read more. Sorry. I do hope it turns out to be a good read for you.

I didn’t have time to read it for the book tour, but those who did really enjoyed it
