Happy Friday! I’m currently reading Royally Rearranged by Emma St. Clair. It’s such a cute book. I am loving it. Here is a line from the chapter I am on: “My parents arrive the next afternoon, bringing with them an icy wind.” Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Funny, I read your line, and it’s starting to snow here in Chicagoland. Too early for my taste though

I love that first line. My First Line Friday post is about Elizabeth Goddard’s romantic suspense Deadly Target. Here’s the first line: “For a few hours every Saturday morning, Erin Larson could forget that evil existed.”

Yes, the house is the Prieuré of Fontainebleau, where NZ writer Katherine Mansfield spent her last days as a guest of Gurdjieff’s Institute for the Harmonious Development of Man, 1922. I took the photo on one of my research trips tracking down Mansfield in France.
