SYNOPSIS
Possession. Power. Passion. New York Times bestselling novelist M. J. Rose creates her most provocative and magical spellbinder yet in this gothic novel set against the lavish spectacle of 1890s Belle Époque Paris.
Sandrine Salome flees New York for her grandmother’s Paris mansion to escape her dangerous husband, but what she finds there is even more menacing. The house, famous for its lavish art collection and elegant salons, is mysteriously closed up. Although her grandmother insists it’s dangerous for Sandrine to visit, she defies her and meets Julien Duplessi, a mesmerizing young architect. Together they explore the hidden night world of Paris, the forbidden occult underground and Sandrine’s deepest desires.
Among the bohemians and the demi-monde, Sandrine discovers her erotic nature as a lover and painter. Then darker influences threaten—her cold and cruel husband is tracking her down and something sinister is taking hold, changing Sandrine, altering her. She’s become possessed by La Lune: A witch, a legend, and a sixteenth-century courtesan, who opens up her life to a darkness that may become a gift or a curse.
This is Sandrine’s “wild night of the soul,” her odyssey in the magnificent city of Paris, of art, love, and witchery. [provided by the author]

I would love a chance to win this brilliant sounding book, so please put my name into the hat. The story sounds like something I’d love to read in my favourite chair, with a glass (or two) of wine. Even the title of the book captivated me. 🙂 Thanks for the generous offer of giving us all a chance to win this.

if you look closely as you enter the giveaway, you can see the author offers a $25 gift card, not the book. but of course then you can buy the book with the card! No hat to put your name, just use the regular entry-form

I have read hardly any paranormal books, but one I did read and enjoy was City of Dark Magic (City of Dark Magic #1)
by Magnus Flyte.
Not only is there time travel in it, but a 400 year old dwarf , a romance with a mysterious nobleman and a terrorist plot too. This book is interesting because it is written by a duo (one a former ballet dancer) writing under the name of Magnus Flyte. They bring the city of Prague to life in this tale of a music student, who accepts a job and discovers a lost manuscript of Beethoven.

I am no great connoisseur of paranormal plots, but as it happens one of the best thrillers I’ve ever read of any kind falls into this category — John Ajvide Lindqvist’s HARBOR. It’s an English translation of the original in Swedish, published ca. 2011. The author is famous for writing the book LET THE RIGHT ONE IN, upon which a few films have been based. Cheers and thanks, Kara S

The Green Mile by Stephen King is the only paranormal suspense I can think of at the moment.

Love the cover and the title, but I can’t seem to get interested in her books. I guess because I don’t read that genre.
Keep me in mind for other tours, though. I didn’t know you did tours. 🙂 Thanks.

yes, her genre is special, a mix of historical history/suspense/paranormal. It’s actually very well written.
all the tours are on books set in France or translated from the French. you could fill this quick form, specifying there the genres you like: https://francebooktours.com/be-a-tour-host/
you can also sign up though email to the site, and as soon as you see a tour that interests you, sign up with the google form present on that book page. for instance we still have a few review copies for Mademoiselle Chanel by the famous C.W, Gortner: https://francebooktours.com/2015/01/08/c-w-gortner-on-tour-mademoiselle-chanel/
